Driving Abroad

Travelling with Pets
Dogs, cats and other pets can be booked to cross the Channel with Euroferries as long as the following basic requirements are fulfilled; these rules are outlined fully in our Terms and Conditions.
At check-in, your animal will need:
• To have a microchip (inserted before its anti-rabies vaccination)
• To have been vaccinated against rabies
• Must be blood tested at least 6 months prior to departing
• An up-to-date pet passport
• To be booked onto the crossing when you are purchasing your ticket by selecting the available option
These rules may vary, and some breeds of animals are not permitted in the UK, so please check the DEFRA site for the latest details.

Once aboard the Euroferries vessel, your pet will have the choice of staying in your car while you travel on the passenger decks, or we do allow the use of our on-board kennels according to your preference. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are however permitted to travel in other areas of the ship.

Check-in Times

Check-in opens two hours before departure. Last Check-in 30 minutes prior to departure. We recommend you allow extra time for possible delay and inspections. Please read our terms and conditions for specific vehicle check in times as they could vary. These times allow us to ensure you embark and disembark the ship in the most appropriate and speed efficient way.

Additional Passenger Assistance

Should you require special assistance whilst using the Euroferries Service or wish to find out more about our disabled facilities, please contact us on 0844 414 5355. If you require any assistance whilst onboard please make your way to one of our onboard staff who would gladly try and help with your requirements.

Vehicle Categories for Travel

To allow us to safely and swiftly board all vehicles, it is important that we have accurate information about your vehicle. We therefore ask that you provide us with the necessary information at the time of booking.

If you do not give us the correct information at the time of booking, you may be delayed at check-in or embarkation, and/or be charged an additional supplement if the vehicle you are travelling in differs from that booked. Please read our terms and conditions for full details.

Required Documentation

A passport for all passengers (including children and infants), valid beyond the date of return, is required for all trips. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have all documentation needed to comply with the requirements of Customs & Immigration, health and other relevant regulations.

Children under 16 will need their own passport and must be accompanied by an adult.
If the accompanying adult is not their parent or legal guardian, we will also need a letter of authorisation from the relevant parties or authorities.

Children aged 16 to 17 may travel on their own however we will need authorisation from relevant parties or authorities to leave the UK.

Health Concerns
For information and advice on health matters while travelling abroad, the Department of Health leaflet "Health Advice for Travellers" is available from Post Offices.
